In the last few days, zircon imaging was performed. It allows to identify individual zircon domains, assign them to a specific geological event and select sites for microanalyses.
Then, uranium-lead isotopic analyses were carried out. These will allow to constrain the age of individual domains and thus, to estimate the age of geological events. This research will help to understand the history of the Archean (4-2.5 billion years old) Napier Complex in East Antarctica and in the broader context, the Early Earth processes.
